Battlefield V Has In-Game Microtransactions for Cosmetics But No Lootboxes

Hot on the heels of the full reveal for Battlefield V, fans were keen to point out that nowhere did EA mention the dreaded lootboxes that have been plaguing the gaming industry, which they so heavily integrated into their previous war game, Star Wars Battlefront II.

The publisher has confirmed the game will not have lootboxes or randomized loot of any kind, with gameplay progression unlocks being made entirely separate from cosmetic unlocks.

However, the game will have in-game microtransactions that will allow players to obtain some cosmetic items, which EA has reiterated are completely separate from gameplay unlocks and are purely cosmetic.

Battlefield V is set for a worldwide October 19th launch across Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One
