We’ve learned (via Games Talk) that Bandai Namco Online and Sega Networks are working on a new collaborative, trans-media project, titled simply Xuccess Heaven.

The game is being poised as the first “animation RPG” for smartphones, and while Sega Networks are the main developers behind the IP, anime producer Naotake Furusato (Crush Gear Turbo, Gear Fighter Dendoh) is the lead planner on the game.

There are reportedly over 150 characters being designed for the entire project, as well as notable voice actors filling the roles of each. Each character has their own history and setting, and there will be lots of interaction between characters.

So far, character designers like Hirokazu Hisayuki (My-HiME), Hisashi Hirai (Mobile Suit Gundam SEED), Shokei Matsui (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion), and Yohei Sasaki (Phi Brain: Puzzle of God) have been confirmed for the project.

Featured above, you can view the game version’s debut trailer, while below you can view the opening for the game:

The story for the production is set in near future Japan, where a changed Tokyo has five unique schools, each of which featuring kids who are all fighting to obtain the special power called the “Xuccess”. The five schools are categorized into various colors, and some voice actors have already been confirmed:

  • Black Academy: Sachi Kokuryu.
  • Blue Academy: Kiyotaka Furushima, Yuko Hara, Junichi Suwabe, Tomokazu Sugita, Miyuki Sawashiro, and Chiharu Sawashiro.
  • Crimson Academy: Atsushi Abe, Mariko Toribe, Hiroyuki Yoshino, Hikaru Midorikawa, and Kazumi Togashi.
  • Green Academy: Tomoaki Maeno, Yuumi Shida, Mamoru Miyano, Jun Fukuyama, and Aya Endo.
  • White Academy: Yu, Serizawa, Himika Akaneya, Miyu Kubota, Yuki Wakai, Azuki Shibuya, and Saki Yamakita.

The trans-media collaborative is going to kick off with the aforementioned smartphone game, and it will migrate to other media later (presumably an OVA). The studio has reportedly already primed up over 20 animations for the project, which can be used to showcase the world, its characters, and so on.

We’ll get more information for Xuccess Heaven in the near future, but for now – we’ll keep you guys posted.
