The mobile game Azur Lane announced that multiple outfits will no longer be available for sale “due to unforeseen circumstances related to the Google Play Store policy”.
According to the post, five character outfits will be removed from the pool of available cosmetics. A small saving grace here is that individuals who already own the outfits will be allowed to keep them.
- Shinano – Visions of Fantasy (L2D)
- Napoli – Dreamy Night (L2D)
- Hindenburg – Delirious Duel (L2D)
- Chitose – Summer Shine
- Atago – Summer March (L2D)

Western platforms and payment processors have been censoring products with increasing frequency. The censored outfits all feature characters wearing leotards, swimsuits, or bunnygirl outfits.
Responsibility for these changes rests firmly with Google appearing to alter their standards. In particular, the Atago (Summer March) outfit has been part of the game for years, and Google apparently only took issue with it recently.
Fans of other mobile games should be on the lookout for censorship coming their way if Google remains insistent on this course of action. A few years back Blue Archive satisfied Google’s censors by splitting the app between a 17+ and All-Ages version. It’s unclear how feasible that would be for Azur Lane.
Azur Lane is available now on mobile devices!
