The Australian Classification board has seemingly leaked Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & The Secret Fairy.
Back in November 2019, Gust producer Keisuke Kikuchi has revealed during an interview that the studio is working on four projects. One of these included a new Atelier game.
Now, the Australian Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications classification board has leaked that game; Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & The Secret Fairy.
The game is rated PG due to its themes and violence, with very mild sex and language. Consumer advice is listed as “Mild fantasy themes and violence.” The game will also be multi-platform.
The classification date is listed as July 15th, with Koei Tecmo Europe as the publisher. Due to its recent classification, we can assume the game will be announced soon.
The most recent Atelier game, Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout sold 350,000 copies worldwide in February 2020; and Koei Tecmo America later announced in April the game sold 420,000 copies. This made it the best selling game in the Atelier series.
The game’s producer Junzo Hosoi claimed that he was surprised so many found the main character sexy. Could this be one of the reasons for the game’s success? In our review we praised it as “a welcome breath of fresh air for the series with its overhauling of core mechanics, as well as its visuals – which look better than ever.”
Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout is out now on Windows PC (via Steam), Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4. In case you missed it, you can find our review here (we highly recommend it!)
