Atari has announced a strategic partnership with Playmaji (formerly known as RetroBlox), the makers of the modular retro console Polymega.
The new partnership aims towards bringing support of Atari titles onto the Polymega console.
For those unaware of the Polymega, it’s meant as a modular multisystem console that supports backwards compatibility of popular consoles of the past, such as the NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, and PS1.
This partnership will have the company work on support on an add-on for the console along with its app that was launched earlier this year. This will allow owners of the Atari VCS to be able to take advantage of the Polymega through their own console.
Based on previous acquisitions done by the company, this will only serve to try and bring fans of retro Atari titles more options and ways to play those classics. The partnership also allows games owned by them to be sold through Playmaji’s storefront, which will lend new ways to obtain these older games, which can be difficult to purchase otherwise.
You can purchase the Polymega through Playmaji’s website.
