Analogue have announced the pre-order date for their modern Game Boy alternative Analogue Pocket.
As previously reported, Analogue specializes in modern video game consoles capable of running retro games from their original cartridges, usually multiple different consoles of a similar generations.
The Analogue Pocket has a wide range of features. Along with playing Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance games, it can also play Game Gear, Neo Geo Pocket Color, and Atari Lynx games through cartridge adapters (sold separately).
It also has a 3.5″ 615 ppi LCD screen, with 1600×1400 resolution (ten times that of the original Game Boy) and made of Gorilla Glass.
Other features include Sleep & Wake modes, Original Display modes (that create pixel grid patterns and LCD subpixel patterns), a hard case to protect it (sold separately), using the dock (sold separately) to connect to HDTVs, wirelessly connect to any 8BitDo Bluetooth or 2.4g controller (supporting up to four players).
Further, it can be even used to create music and capture via the in-built program Nanoloop, and sent to PCs via MIDI and Sync cables. Speaking of, the Analogue Pocket has a Pocket to MIDI USB-A Cable, Pocket to MIDI IN Cable, Pocket to Analog Sync Cable, and Pocket to Pocket Link Cable (all sold separately).
Users can even create their own games via GB Studio, and port them into the Analogue Pocket. Finally, it also supports FPGA development (Field-Programmable Gate Array) via a second dedicated FPGA. This will allow developers to develop and port their own cores.
