In a surprise announcement, Amelia Watson from hololive and Cover Corp announced that she would “conclude all her channel activities”, but surprisingly the word “Graduation” isn’t used once.
For VTuber fans, it’s usually called a “Graduation” when someone retires or simply leaves the character they’re working for (many go on to resume streaming under a different identity). But in this case it appears Amelia’s relationship with hololive may be continuing, just in a different capacity. You can read the full announcement below.
Watson Amelia, a member of the VTuber group hololive English, will conclude all of her channel activities on September 30th, 2024. This would include all regular activities including live-streaming on platforms such as YouTube, social media activities, live event participation, and the regular release of new merchandise.
Since her debut as a member of hololive English’s founding generation, hololive English -Myth-, she has actively provided her fans with unique content as well as participated in all sorts of activities beyond streaming that significantly contributed to spreading VTuber culture overseas. Though her channel activities will end, Watson Amelia will remain an affiliate of hololive production moving forward.
“Watson Amelia will remain an affiliate of hololive” is uncharted territory for the company and we’re unsure what this means? Is she simply stepping into a more administrative/managerial role? Is she reserving the right to return at some point? We just don’t know for certain. So fear not Teamates, not all is lost.
Even Cover Corp CEO Yagoo responded to the announcement saying he’s looking forward to working with Amelia in the future.
Thank you for all of your hard work streaming and growing with us until now, Amelia. Although things will change, we look forward to working with you again in the future. Please keep in touch!

While this may be speculation on our part, it’s wort mentioning that Cover Corp expanded their overseas operations earlier this year and they may need people like Amelia to help run things behind the scenes… but that may just be wishful thinking on our part.
