Fans were concerned that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 was cutting Bam Margera from its roster, only to learn he is returning after all. Instead, its soundtrack has cut songs and one iconic band said their removal from the remaster is disappointing.
Iconic rock band Alien Ant Farm is one of the artists cut from the remaster’s extensive soundtrack, meaning their popular song “Wish” won’t be returning in the remaster of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3.
Speaking in a new interview, the band said they’re confused and disappointed in the decision to cut their song.
“Is it a bummer that we weren’t invited, or did they not include us? Absolutely,” said Alien Ant Farm guitarist Terry Corso in the interview.
“We understand that they’re trying to bring some new stuff on to these releases, and if you’ve got to make cuts, you’ve got to make cuts, I don’t know why it had to be us, I feel like our song was really good on there and did really well,” Corso said.
Alien Ant Farm singer Dryden Mitchell added: “I kind of get it, that skating feels a little more like the punk side, we’re not a punk band, but I think that’s what makes a cool soundtrack, is being different.”
The remaster’s soundtrack track list has been revealed in waves, confirming returning and new additions – all of which are being hand selected by Tony Hawk himself.
In the original track list reveal fans immediately questioned what tracks would return and which would be cut, and who was making the choices on its tracks. Tony confirmed in the second track list reveal that he was curating the soundtrack personally.
“It was my choice to pick some different songs by the same artists featured in THPS3+4 OST,” Tony Hawk said. “I’m hoping that discovery is half the fun, and a big reason that these soundtracks resonated in the first place. So listen and enjoy the ride. More to come… both old and new.”
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is set to launch on July 11th for Windows PC (via Steam and the Microsoft Store), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, Switch 2, PS4, and PS5.
