Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 seemingly cuts Bam Margera

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4

While Activision and developer Iron Galaxy Studios announced Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 to much fanfare, it seems an iconic skater won’t return in the remaster.

The announcement for the new HD remaster of the latter two games in the skating franchise seems to confirm Bam Margera, who appeared in the original games, is being cut from the new release.

“Choose from a legendary pro skater roster that includes Tony Hawk, Bucky Lasek, Steve Caballero, Kareem Campbell, Geoff Rowley, Andrew Reynolds, Elissa Steamer, Chad Muska, Eric Koston, Rodney Mullen, Jamie Thomas, Rune Glifberg and Bob Burnquist, or opt for the new skaters, including Rayssa Leal, Chloe Covell, Jamie Foy, Zion Wright, and Yuto Horigome,” the announcement reads. “And, in true Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater fashion, there will be secrets to unlock.”

Bam Margera wasn’t mentioned in the long list of returning and newcomer skaters, leading many to suspect he’s been cut from the game. Bam made an appearance in both Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4, as a playable skater in the former and even gave out missions in the latter.

Originally getting fame via both CKY and later the wildly popular Jackass series, Bam like several other mainstays fell into alcohol and drug abuse. He was fired as the producer on Jackass Forever over testing positive for drug tests.

Despite this, as of 2023 Bam confirmed he’s been sober via the help of actor Mark Wahlberg, and Tony Hawk even posted an Instagram story of him skating with Bam right after the announcement of the remasters. Still, we’ve had no word if Bam has been cut from the new release or not.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is set to launch on July 11th for Windows PC (via Steam and the Microsoft Store), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, PS4, and PS5.
