Acquire has 7 new games in development

Acquire

Japanese developer Acquire has announced they’re working on seven games right now, though a few of them are already known to Niche Gamer.

Three previously announced games by Acquire include their Class of Heroes 2 remaster, AMEDAMA and XALADIA: Rise of the Space Pirates X2.

Of the seven new games and the unannounced ones – Acquire president Takuma Endo naturally teased (via Famitsu) the above atwork for one unannounced game.

While details on the new game are scant, Endo teased the game’s cute protagonist but said “the game is extremely difficult (laughs).” The game is a dungeon crawler where a girl, who’s also an ancient weapon, awakens in the dungeon.

Furthermore, Endo pointed out that AMEDAMA is actually being developed by IzanagiGames while Acquie is in charge of planning. Endo noted this is rare for their company, but it was necessary as their development staff are completely busy with the other titles.

A second unannounced game was also teased with the above artwork, which Endo describes as a deckbuilding game of sorts. The game has already entered internal beta testing, and feedback has been positive.

The new deckbuilding game was reportedly going to be digital-only but due to its positive feedback Acquire is considering a physical release, but only in Japan.

Lastly, Acquire is looking to showcase XALADIA: Rise of the Space Pirates X2 and another new game at PAX West 2023, which runs from September 1st through the 4th in Seattle.
