3DNES Emulator Manages to Create 3D Effects for Classic Games

A fan has created a Nintendo Entertainment System emulator that does some visual wizardry – it manages to simulate 3D visuals for classic, 2D original games.

Featured above, you can view a recording of the emulator in action. The fan, Trần Vũ Trúc, has even put the emulator up for use in your browser, however you have to use Firefox.

It seems like simpler games, visually, work best. Once you get dialogue and more complicated bits, the effect tends to get warped and it sometimes creates hilarious results.

Despite 3DNes only working in Firefox currently, Trúc is promising to have a proper executable coming, soon.
