Square Enix have announced the release date of Final Fantasy IV: Pixel Remaster.

Final Fantasy IV: Pixel Remaster launches September 8th on Windows PC (via Steam), Android, and iOS.

The original Final Fantasy IV launched in 1991; where dark knight Cecil turns his back on his comrades of the invading Kingdom of Baron. He teams up with Dragoon Kain, White Mage Rosa, Summoner Rydia, and more in his quest for the Crystals to stop Red Wings commander Golbez.

The game was the first Final Fantasy title to use the Active Time Battle system, where foes still act while players decide what move to use next. The Pixel Remaster version also includes updated 2D sprites, a rearranged soundtrack, improved UI, and more.

Those who pre-order the game will not only get it for 20% off, but also two wallpapers, and a special soundtrack with three songs.
