Horizon Zero Dawn’s Aloy Heads to Genshin Impact; October 13 on PlayStation, November 24 on All Others

Genshin Impact Aloy

MiHoYo have announced [1, 2, 3] that Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn will be available in their gacha action-RPG, Genshin Impact.

While her own world is one of a post-apocalpyse where robots roam the land, Aloy has come to Teyvat in search of new challenges. She is dubbed the “Savior From Another World,” and will be a 5-star Cryo bow wielder. Her skills and abilities were not revealed at this time.

All players who have reached Adventure Rank 20 or higher will be able to obtain her via an in-game email. Her event will be divided into two phases. After the version 2.1 update and when version 2.2 update maintenance begins (October 13th), all players who log in on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 will obtain the character via in-game mail.

However, after version update 2.2 and the start of version 2.3 update maintenance (November 24th), players who log on on any platform will be able to get Aloy. This not only opens up more cross-over cameos from other platform-exclusive characters, but the chance they may appear for everyone.

While Aloy may be appearing on non-PlayStation versions of Genshin Impact, her 4-star bow Predator [1, 2] will only appear on PlayStation. Also offered on October 13th via in-game mail; the bow increases a character’s normal and charge attack damage by 10% for six seconds (up to two stacks) when dealing cryo damage, and increased attack when used by Aloy.

Aloy had previously appeared as a costume in Fortnite, and also graced the various platforms beyond PlayStation. The Thunderjaw from Horizon Zero Dawn was also one of many characters and objects from other PlayStation titles that could appear when the RYNO 8 is fired in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.

In recent news, Genshin Impact update 2.0 is now available, adding the new Inazuma region, new playable characters, new gear, new gameplay mechanics, new quests, and more.

Genshin Impact is available and free-to-play on Windows PC (via the official website), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Android, iOS, and coming soon to Nintendo Switch. In case you missed it, you can find our review here (we recommend it!)
