Monster Hunter Rise Update Ver. 3.0 Launches May 27; Brings New Ending, Crimson Glow Valstrax, and More

Monster Hunter Rise

Capcom have revealed the contents of Update Ver. 3.0 for Monster Hunter Rise, along with the game’s upcoming DLC and content.

The new trailer reveals four of the new monsters coming in the update. These include Crimson Glow Valstrax (a variant that can use explosive red light to shoot lasers and fly even higher and faster) and Apex Zinogre (coated in golden lightning and anger; coming to Rampage and standard quests).

Players will also have to fight Wind Serpent Ibushi and Thunder Serpent Narwa at the same time. The pair are the male and female of the same species; and were previously fought at the Red Stronghold and to unlock the player’s Hunter Rank.

When the pair seek to mate, their ventures out into the world summon terrible storms. While avoiding spoilers for the original game; the new trailer show the pair set to be united, and make up the climatic conclusion to the game’s new ending.

The update will bring new monsters in Hub Quests and Rampage quests, new Quests in general, and a new boss battle arena. There will also be new weapon trees, armor, layered armor, items, skills, and Rampage skills. Players can also use materials to change the appearance of their Rampage weapons, and new Guild Card medals will be available.

Update Ver. 3.0 launches May 27th. You can find the Update Ver. 3.0 trailer below.

The Monster Hunter May digital event also detailed the new DLC and the game’s roadmap.

The new DLC will launch May 27th; and includes new Hunter Voices (those of Iori and Yomogi), layered armor that grants Felyne ears or a Canyne head and tails, Palamute and Palico layered armor that dresses them as each-other, two new poses, 8 new stickers, two face paints, two new hairstlyes, two new Cohoot outfits, and two new BGM tracks.

The roadmap also explained that the Capcom Collabs would introduce layered armor that references other Capcom titles. This will start in mid-June with a quest to unlock layered armor to make your Palico look like Tsukino from Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin.

The End of June will see Version 3.1 launch (introducing more Event quests and DLC), along with the ends of July and August bringing Version 3.2 and 3.3 respectively (both introducing Capcom Collab quests, Event quests, and DLC).
