Mario Kart Tour Ninja Tour Now Available with Original Non-Real World Inspired Track

Mario Kart Tour Ninja Tour

Nintendo have announced the launch of the Ninja Tour in Mario Kart Tour, along with the game’s first original non-real world inspired track.

While most tracks in the game are based on those from prior games, there are also “remixes” of classic tracks from the SNES and Nintendo 64 era. Original tracks have previously been inspired by real-world capital cities; such as New York and Tokyo.

The announcement of the Ninja Tour’s launch across YouTube and Twitter [1, 2, 3] reveals the Ninja Hideaway track. This would make it the first original track for the mobile game not based off a real world location. As such, there is a chance this track may re-appear in later Mario Kart titles; possibly more than those based off real-world locations.

Players scramble around and over a ninja castle under cover of moonlight and among the cherry blossoms, all while avoiding traps within the castle itself. The tour (which will feature three races and a bonus challenge as with other tours) will also feature a new driver, kart, and driver to unlock.

These are Shy Guy (Ninja), the frog-inspired Jade Hop Rod, and a Ninja Scroll glider. It appears players will also have the chance to unlock kimono-wearing Peach and Daisy again, along with golden variants of characters. Each character costume is not just as aesthetic different, as each have their own skill to grant them different weapons.

In addition, Nintendo announced a photo competition. Players can obtain in-game coins by sharing their ninja-inspired photos under the #NinjaHideaway hashtag (until April 16th 7:59 a.m. PT). The coins will be equal to 20 times the number of total posts made, up to 15,000 coins in total.
