SNK Corporation have released a new gameplay teaser trailer for The King of Fighters XV, focused on Benimaru Nikaido.

Dubbed “The Shooting Star” and a reference to Polnaref from Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure, Benimaru possesses electrokinesis, allowing him to electrify his body, call down lightning, or shoot foes with bolts. Along from coming from a wealthy family and his work as a model, Benimaru is a loyal friend, and a fierce fighter.

Benimaru has been in the series since the start with The King of Fighters ’94. As stated in the video description; he, Shun’ei, and Meitenkun make up Team Hero.

As previously reported at the game’s announcement, the game is currently being optimized, with certain features being “brushed up.” An animated promotional short by Masami Obari (the 1990s Fatal Fury movies) is set to be released soon, along with a new trailer next week.

The King of Fighters XV launches 2021. Platforms have not been confirmed at this time. We shall keep you informed as we learn more.
