Bandai Namco has confirmed Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 has sold over 7 million copies, alongside new details for its latest post-launch update.

The 3D fighter sequel has sold over 7 million copies in both digital sales and worldwide shipments, a milestone reached after its initial release back in 2016. Bandai Namco also shared details on the game’s new 12th free update, which includes Pikkon as a playable character.

Here’s a rundown on the new update and its content:

Pikkon fiercely fought against Goku in the Other World Tournament and was a powerful & reliable supporter during the battle against Janemba! The game will show his unique Ki Wave moves that you will find links with his Martial Artist-like charge attacks. Please check them out after the release!

Clothes of Bardock & Gine from Dragon Ball Super: Broly will be available as new costumes!

Accessories of Gine Wig & Tail sets will be added, and you can fully customize your character true to the entire outfit of Gine!

Enjoy creating epic scenes of the original work or taking photos in your favorite situation with Photo Mode, by immersing yourself into Bardock & Gine!

In addition to that, new costumes will appear through the game update, so look forward to follow-up information!

> 7-Day Consecutive World Tournament Going Live to Commemorate 7 Million Unit Shipped Worldwide!

Online tournaments called “Character Tournament & Theme Tournament” will go live from December 21st, 2020 (Mon) to December 27th, 2020 (Sun)! In these tournaments, players can use specified characters only. The tournaments will determine who is the strongest expert of characters in Xenoverse 2. The participants of the tournaments will receive World Tournament Tracksuit (Five-Star Dragon Ball)! In addition to Supreme Kai of Time, who became playable through the latest update, we will hold Janemba & Gogeta (Super Saiyan) Tournaments in tribute to Pikkon, the new playable character in the update! During the Character Tournament & Theme Tournament, players will compete in the ranking by the amount of points they earn through ranked matches dedicated to the Character Tournament & Theme Tournament event.

Players who are deemed to have taken actions (several times) such as leaving the room after a matching or intentionally fighting battle against the same player may be disqualified for rewards, or his/her account may be banned.

To join a Character Tournament or Theme Tournament, you need to connect your game console to the internet. As for the PlayStation®4, you need to have a Sony Entertainment Network account and be registered on PlayStation®Plus. As for Nintendo Switch™, you need to be registered Nintendo on Switch Online (paid).

In the event, you have to keep defeating villainous bosses that will become more challenging as you defeat them. In each Raid Boss Battle, players can receive a variety of golden costumes appeared before as completion rewards. Join us and get rewards!

Raid Boss Battle is an online event. Players have to defeat Raid Bosses that start with Level 1 up to Level 99 through their growth.

After Level 99, battle will become “Infinite Raid Boss Battle” in which players keep fighting against Level 99 enemies endlessly.

Raid Boss will be the most challenging mission in the game.
