While Sony’s PlayStation 5 has been virtually un-obtainable before or after its worldwide launch, the company is promising more PS5 consoles before the end of 2020.

The company announced that while demand is “unprecedented,” more PlayStation 5 inventory is “coming to retailers before the end of the year.”

Previously, Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan said PlayStation 5 pre-orders sold more in 12 hours than PlayStation 4 pre-orders sold in its first 12 weeks. In Japan, the PS5 sold over 118,000 units in its first week – while the Xbox Series X+S sold over 21,000 units.

PlayStation 5 is now available, worldwide.
