Independent developer miHoYo recently launched their ambitious RPG, Genshin Impact, and fans are already asking when new content will be released.
The developer talked up (via IGN Japan) their plans for post-launch content like characters, cities, and even new platforms they’re planning for the game. Currently, the game is available for PC, smartphones, and PlayStation 4. While a Nintendo Switch release is planned, it sounds like an Xbox release isn’t happening.
“We currently don’t have any plans for an Xbox version of the game,” miHoYo said. They apparently hinted at a PlayStation 5 release, however, when noting they “already have plans” to release Genshin Impact on “next-gen consoles.”
miHoYo also said that the current release is only “a portion of the game” and they’re envisioning the game as a ‘live service’ kind of title. “One could say that the real work has only just begun,” they added. The new content will include a third city, side quests, character-specific missions, and of course – new characters.
