Hyperdimension Neptunia Series 10th Anniversary Digital Event Premieres August 19

Hyperdimension Neptunia

Idea Factory International have announced an upcoming “digital event” for the Hyperdimension Neptunia series’ 10th anniversary.

While details on the actual content of the event have not been shared (but coming soon), the date of it will be August 19th. It is likely we will get more information regarding the upcoming Neptunia Virtual Stars; launching August 6th in Japan, and in 2021 for North America and Europe, for PlayStation 4.

The series began in 2010, taking place in the fantasy world of Gamindustri. It is divided into four nations, ruled by four goddesses- or CPUs (Console Patron Unit). Each of these goddesses represented a gaming console at the time (PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, Xbox, and the cancelled Sega Neptune). Each can also transform into their HDD form for more power.

In the first game, the four goddess fought against each other in the Console Wars for the faith of the citizens (or “Shares”) which keep them alive. However, the four soon become friends and team up against the numerous threats against Gamindustri, and even other worlds.

Games have typically included action or turn-based RPGs, fighting against parodies of game piracy, attempting to survive the coming of new games consoles, getting trapped in video games, or becoming idols. More goddesses also appeared, including those based on game publishers and developers. The series also got an anime in 2013.

We will keep you informed as we learn more.
