Super Smash Bros. Ultimate ARMS DLC Fighter Livestream Premieres June 22nd

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Update: Nintendo have also confirmed that “There will be no further new fighter reveals other than a fighter from ARMS in this livestream.”

Original Story:

Nintendo have announced a livestream for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, revealing the ARMS DLC fighter.

As previously reported, the new character was partially revealed during a stealthily released Nintendo Direct Mini , the first DLC character of Fighters Pass Vol. 2 (as part of Challenger Pack 6). All that was revealed was that it would be a character from ARMS.

No other details were shared at the time, leaving the game’s roster wide-open for speculation. Spring Man and Ribbon Girl had been available in game as an Assist Trophy and Mii Fighter Costume respectively.

Should either of them become a full DLC character, it could open up characters previously dismissed due to being represented as costumes or Assist Trophys. However, game director Masahiro Sakurai had previously confirmed that the six DLC characters had already been decided.

Now, Nintendo have announced an estimated 35-minute livestream, “featuring an in-depth look at the upcoming DLC fighter.” Much like the prior DLC fighter livestreams, the presentation will have Sakurai playing the game, showing how the new character plays, unique mechanics, a new stage, and the stage’s music.

It will broadcast June 22nd at 7 a.m. PT / 10 a.m. ET via Nintendo’s official YouTube channel.
