Otherside Entertainment on System Shock 3: “We are Still Involved, but we Can’t Speak on it Much Further”

System Shock 3

Otherside Entertainment’s Community Manager has reassured that the developer is still involved with System Shock 3 after Tencent’s involvement.

As we previously reported here on Niche Gamer, Tencent acquired the ownership of domains SystemShock3.com and SystemShock4.com. It was later announced that “Tencent will be taking the #SystemShock franchise forward.”

Tencent’s acquisition of the System Shock franchise comes months after news that the System Shock 3 development team was allegedly no longer employed at Otherside Entertainment.

Now, Otherside Entertainment’s Community Manager Alyssa Marshall has issued a brief statement in a thread on the official forums for Otherside Entertainment.

The thread had users discussing Tencent’s involvement with the game, and what Otherside Entertainment’s role now was. Marshall recently stated that they were still involved, but were seemingly unable to confirm more details.

“We are still involved, but we can’t speak on it much further than that at this point in time. As we are allowed to make more information public, we will do so.”

It is entirely likely Otherside Entertainment are under an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) until a public announcement is made by Tencent or Otherside Entertainment (with approval by all relevant parties).

Until otherwise stated, System Shock 3 is in development for Windows PC.
