President of Re-Logic and Terraria creator Andrew Spinks has confirmed the release date for Terraria‘s final update, Journey’s End, on PC.

The Journey’s End 1.4 update was originally scheduled to launch in 2019, but we heard no news when it failed to reach that date. Now, Spinks has confirmed the release date of the final update on PC via a tweet. We also see a screenshot of the new world creation screen (above).

The developers have teased new features coming to the final update across Twitter and Discord since it was first announced.

Cataloged by the fan-made Terraria Gamepedia, these include “a form of creative mode,” new biomes, new weapons, new furniture sets, new minions and pets, new traps, new blocks, the ability to “block swap” without having to mine older blocks and place new ones, new enemies and critters, new graphical effects, a master difficulty mode, and more.

The Journey’s End update launches May 16th on PC. In other news, Terraria recently achieved 30 million copies sold.
