Starbreeze Studios have announced a release window for Payday 3.

In an announcement of “Estimate of Future Cashflows“, Starbreeze Studios showed a positive prediction, especially in the first-half of 2022. The graph was generated from three pieces of information- all related to Payday 3.

• Release of PAYDAY 3 estimated to take place in 2022–2023
• Publishing agreement for PAYDAY 3 concluded* during the first half of 2020 and an initial payment installment is received, after which the continued development of the product is financed by the publishing partner
• Publishing agreement for PAYDAY: Crime War concluded* during the first half of 2020 and an initial payment installment is received, after which the continued development of the product is financed by the publishing partner

* In conjunction with the signing of these publishing agreements, the possibility of payment to the creditors is created in the ongoing reconstruction work. The payment to the creditors is estimated to be able to amount to approximately SEK 40 million.

Some good news may be what Starbreeze needs. In 2015 fans rioted after the disastrous addition of transactions to Payday 2 after vowing they would not. In 2018 they had to “reduce costs and sharpen focus on core business” due to poor sales of Overkill’s The Walking Dead. The game was officially killed off in February 2019.

In 2018 Starbreeze were also accused of and raided due to allegations of insider trading. Starbreeze’ CEO also stepped down at the end of 2018 as the studio applied for insolvency.
