Updated Nintendo Switch With Better Battery Life Announced

Hot on the heels of their new, compact Nintendo Switch Lite, Nintendo has announced another version of their console – only it’s the original version, and has better battery life.

The new console (with the HAC-001(-01) model number) sports an expected battery life of 4.5 to 9 hours, and lasts roughly 5.5 hours when playing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, as compared to the original Switch battery (with the HAC-001 model number) – which runs 2.5 to 6.5 hours and lasts 3 hours when playing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

The new Switch model will naturally replace the old model, and will go on sale in August for Japan and in September for Europe. We’re waiting on confirmation for North America.
