Take-Two Abandons Trademark for Agent

We’ve learned Take-Two has abandoned the trademark for Agent.

The trademark has now been abandoned, meaning they’ve effectively given up the legal groundwork for the name “Agent.” The mark was abandoned because “no Statement of Use or Extension Request timely filed after Notice of Allowance was issued,” meaning Take-Two just let it go.

Announced back at E3 2007 and later finally given the official title “Agent” at E3 2009, no official media for the game was ever shown. A few screenshots and artwork were leaked over the years, however the last we heard it was in active development was back in 2011.

Despite the negligence with the trademark for Agent, the game is still listed on the Rockstar Games website and the Take-Two website.
