Wireless NES Controllers Announced for Switch

Nintendo has announced wireless Nintendo Entertainment System-era controllers for the Nintendo Switch,


You read that right – the new controllers are only compatible with their lineup of NES games, and they’ll be exclusive to Nintendo Switch Online members to purchase.

Pricing is set at $59.99 for a set of two controllers, and pre-purchasing will go live on September 18th. Shipments are currently scheduled to go out sometime in December of this year.

What’s more, you have to theoretically be a Nintendo Switch Online member to even use the controllers – as the only games you can use them with are the classic NES games released via the Nintendo Switch Online service.
