• THQ Nordic Acquires Kingdoms of Amalur IP

    THQ Nordic has purchased the rights to the Kingdoms of Amalur IP from 38 Studios.

    The deal also includes “Amalur”, an IP based on the abandoned MMORPG project Copernicus.

    The downfall of the game and studio came with bankruptcy and an unpaid loan leading to a lawsuit and a $4.4 million settlement. 38 Studio’s founder Curt Schilling felt the Kingdoms of Amalur series is worth $1 Billion, but we have no idea of how much THQ Nordic paid. We do know the auction of all 38 Studio’s assets accumulated roughly $320,000.
