30% of Capcom Vancouver Staff Laid Off During Restructuring

Capcom has laid off staff in their Vancouver studio amidst a corporate restructuring.

The Canadian studio had 30% of its staff laid off, while the remaining staff are working on supporting their new Puzzle Fighter mobile release, as well as “its flagship Dead Rising series.”

Prior to the restructuring, the studio had roughly 250 employees.

A rumor from Kotaku had an anonymous source close to the studio claiming they were working on an unannounced game they were prototyping. The game wasn’t greenlit at the time, and was being likened to a third-person action-adventure game set in an alternate reality New York.

The studio’s latest Dead Rising title, Dead Rising 4, is currently available for Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
