Bandai Namco has announced (via Hachima) Taiko Drum Master: Session de Dodon ga Don! in this week’s Famitsu.
The new game will launch for PlayStation 4 sometime this year in Japan. A bundle is planned, which includes the game and a controller bundle, however the controller will be sold separately as well. The controller can only be connected through USB.
Fans will be able to play in jam sessions for the first time in the series’ history, enabling you to play against your friends’ musical data. Even if your friends aren’t available online, you’ll be able to play against their performance. There’s naturally a two-player mode.
Guest characters are planned, including characters like Doraemon. These characters will say key phrases and even have unique actions.
