Bethesda Softworks has announced a new expansion for The Elder Scrolls Online.
The expansion is focused entirely on the beloved island of Vvardenfell, yes this means players will be able to return to the region first seen in The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. Featured above, you can view the debut trailer for the new expansion.
Set for a release on June 6th of this year, you’ll be able to purchase the game and the expansion together for $59.99, or if you already own the game you can buy it separately for $39.99.
If you’re unfamiliar with the series, The Elder Scrolls Online is set hundreds of years before Morrowind even takes place, so you’ll be able to see the region in its prime. Bethesda is promising over 30 hours of new story content, a new player class, a three-team PVP mode, and an additional Trial.
The new player class is the Warden, which got scrapped from the MMO’s early days of development. The Warden fights using earth-based magic, and has a bear companion to fight off baddies, while also being adorable yet ferocious.
Naturally, there’s a collector’s edition, setting you back $99.99 and coming with the following: a 12-inch Dwarven Colossus statue, a map of Vvardenfell, a SteelBook game case, a 176-page art booklet, and a bunch of exclusive in-game items. A $79.99 digital collector’s edition will also be available, however we currently don’t have details for that release.
The Elder Scrolls Online previously added new regions and story content like the Thieves Guild, the Dark Brotherhood, and even the Orc city of Orsinium.
The Elder Scrolls Online Morrowind is already available for pre-order via The Elder Scrolls Online online store across PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Digitally pre-order the game brings you access to the “Discovery Pack,” including items like a dwarven war dog pet.
