Fire Emblem Heroes Announced for Mobile

Fire Emblem’s first mobile game has been announced as Fire Emblem Heroes. Featuring characters from past games in the series, it is specifically designed for play in short bursts. Instead of the series traditional weapon triangle, an attributes system is in place.

The game will feature microtransactions to summon classic characters to play as.

Fans will also be able to pick which heroes appear in the game with the Fire Emblem Heroes – Choose Your Legends event starting now. Players interested can vote here.

The game releases February 2nd on Google Play, with iOS coming at a later date.

This looks and sounds exactly as bad as I expected when I heard they were making a FE mobile game.

Can’t wait for the AC mobile game to be utter garbage as well.

Oh boy a microtransaction riddled mess.
But I guess it’s alright when Nintendo does it, right Nintendrones?

You can thank the mobile-shitters complaining about Mario Run’s price. $10/£8 upfront is just too expensive, they’d rather gradually spend much more over a period of time.

Can’t wait to see how the cool FE characters have a 0.3% chance of being summoned and be forced to pay $3 so I can have a 1% chance of getting them

It’s not bad when anyone does it considering you can play any of these sort of games without using even using the microtransactions. My current team in Final Fantasy Brave Exvius is mostly made of up great units outside of Vivi, who I use because he’s Vivi and Vivi is the best.

I don’t see how this will be any different than any other mobile game like it in existence. I mean, I could understand not wanting to play it because its shallow compared to its source material… But complaining about shit you don’t need to pay into is the dumbest shit that you can do.

I kept waiting for them to talk about something other than the mobile game, and it just kept going and going. It’s always nice to see a list of micro-transactions in a game’s trailer. ‘Keep trying to summon that specific hero with perfect stats guys, you only need to purchase 250 dollars worth of orbs!’. This thing is designed for whales.

But seriously, heros is a fucking retarded concept, so thank god i don’t actually play mobile phone games.

Also, Fire Emblem Gaiden remake for 3DS, fucking hype!

That’s the thing though, it’s like that experiment with the frog in hot water. You just entice them to spend a little bit over and over and they don’t even realize how much they’ve spent.

I’ll give it a chance, although I’m not excited about the freemium approach.

They could have a pay-per-world method, which would’ve appealed to the plebs without resorting to microtransactions.

It gets old having to play everything 4 times, but it’s decent enough.

Well it’s ok when Nintendo splits Fire Emblem in two separate games to cash in twice so anything goes with them.

Yes. You spend 5 orbs (initially) to summon a hero, and if you do them in bursts/sets (not totally sure on the specifics) you pay less pearls (e.g. 5 for 1, 4 for 2-4 and 3 for 5 pulls). See http://imgur.com/a/pYdzt for prices. There are different ranks of heroes (1-5 stars, 5 giving you higher stats and better skills) you can pull but through grinding you can apparently rank up lower star characters into higher ones (though who knows if a grinded 5 star is equal to a pulled 5 star).

There are probably other things you’ll be able to spend orbs on too like upgrade materials (which you need in order to increase the stars of your characters and very likely an ascension type system like in Brave Exvius) and energy replenishment.

    >Freemium, microtransactioned mobile game
    >Constant Internet connection required

Maybe-ish worth a try? I’m still into DC Legends w/o spending a dime on it, and that game has some ridiculous microtransactions.

    Ah, that’s interesting.
I play Dragon Ball Z: Dokkan Battle, so have some familiarity with how gacha games work.

Incidentally, in that particular gacha game, you don’t get bonuses from summoning in bursts (so I’m not incentivized to hoard stones for burst summons) or doing multisummons (unless it’s a filler banner that gives me a powerup I can use to level up one of my cards for every multi).

The most expensive set of stones is $44 (for 92 stones) on Global or $47 (for 90 stones) on JP. It also has exclusive gachas (called Dokkanfests).

It also uses an R, SR, and SSR rarity system instead of the 5/6 star system (URs and above aren’t pullable, they have to be enhanced from SSRs), which is the rarity system used in Granblue Fantasy. In Dokkan Battle, a pulled SSR is typically better than a grinded, maxed out SSR (but I don’t know if the same applies with other Gacha games).

The only things that dragon stones can be used in Dokkan, aside from summoning and refilling stamina, is reviving after losing in battle, refreshing the item shop (which uses a currency that can’t be bought with cash, but is obtained by other means, such as selling items or cards), and (in place of using a dupe) changing abilities after having made a choice in the recently-implemented skill tree system.

Is DC Legends also a gacha game?
I ask because I’m guessing different mobile phone genres have different temptations for spending cash.
