Atlus has announced a Premium Edition for The King of Fighters XIV.

The “Burn to Fight” edition is set for a North American release, and will cost $79.99 / CA$99.99, netting you the following goodies:

  • SteelBook® – The game disc will be encased in a collectible SteelBook® emblazoned with the series’ fiery mainstay, Kyo Kusanagi, literally burning to fight.
  • Art book – This 144-page art book will be filled with original character/stage drawings from throughout the series.
  • 3-Disc Soundtrack – Those looking for an audio fix will be able to enjoy a three-disc soundtrack (housed in a gorgeous Mai Shiranui illustrated case) comprised of 60+ electric songs worthy of the greatest fighting tournament in the world.
  • Collector’s Box – All the above items will be packaged in a scorching box adorned with familiar characters.

The standard edition will cost the regular $59.99 / CA$79.99. If you pre-order the game, you’ll get the very same steelbook case as a bonus, as well all players getting the Classic Kyo costume during the week of launch.

The King of Fighters XIV is launching for PlayStation 4 in North America on August 23rd, in Japan on August 25th, and finally in Europe on August 26th.

I kinda love how KoF isn’t ashamed to be 14 games deep and doesn’t try to hide it like most series do when they’re only three or four in.

    That’s a nice collector’s edition. Damn nice. I don’t even have a PS4 and want that collector’s edition.

I think this series had better graphics when it was all 2D. Same with SF for that matter.

Yup, legal wording never lies, even at a Sony show:

Next up from that show should be Nioh, Yakuza 0 and Ni No Kuni 2, in that order.

It did but it also cost a fuckload to make, which is why XIII had a small roster and this one’s in 3D.

It’s kind of pricey, but I may go for it if it releases in Europe. Judging from the trailers the soundtrack should be great.

Considering what SNK has gone through, I’d celebrate the longevity of my series too.
