Corpse Party Remake Released on Steam With PC Exclusive Content

The Japanese cult game Corpse Party finally has an English release on PC. XSEED and Marvelous USA have translated and published the original Japanese version from GrisGris into Steam.

This is a remake of the 2008 version, which depicts the tale of a group of high school students trapped inside an haunted elementary school filled with deadly ghosts.

Several new and retro features were added, like the original inspired retro sprites, Japanese voice acting, PC exclusive chapters and text skip feature.

These new additions makes the PC version a worthy buy even for those onwing the PSP and Nintendo DS ports. Unfortunately, the PSP sprites are not available since they were created by a different publisher.

best time to start tit, then. Still a bit pissed they didn’t remade sprites too. But the PSP version rights belongs to a different publisher, including their sprites.

3DS version still hasn’t released yet. but they will have 14 extra chapters compared to 4 of PC version

I was planning on getting it on 3DS but since it coming out on Steam, i’ll get that first and maybe get the 3DS a lot later.

Can anybody tell me if the PC exclusive chapters are important for the story? (as in making it easier to understand stuff on Blood Drive or Dead Patient)

The 3ds version is a completely different rerelease of the game so no it won’t get the 10 extra chapters.

Yeah, I dunno why nobody ever mentions GOG. It’s really preferable to Steam with zero DRM embedded, that’s how I’m getting my copy.

Did the Corpse Party 2U ever get a fan translation?
As if Blood Drive wasn’t disappointing enough, I was pretty pissed off that game made quite a few references to 2U (most notably the crazy knighto! knighto! knighto! chick that starts chasing you) that were completely lost on me since we never got that game.
