Thanks to a heads up post from Neogaf, it’s been revealed that Bandai Namco’s latest chapter in the Tales series, Tales of Berseria, will be making its English-speaking debut early next year.
Revealed during the official Tales blog’s latest post, the date is said to be the same for both the Playstation 4 and Digital PC releases of the game, so those favoring one platform over the other need not worry about having to wait.
The blog post also contains some new info concerning Tales of Berseria and its new “Switch Blast” battle mechanic, for those who are interested.

April 22, 2016 at 11:14 amThat’s not too bad of a wait, but am still curious to see whether Bamco will decide to have another game ported over to fill that gap regardless.

April 22, 2016 at 11:22 amWow Steam already announced. Here’s hoping they don’t drop the ball on this entry.

April 22, 2016 at 11:28 amCool. With Persona 5 still slated for this summer and Final Fantasy XV on 9/30, this will keep things from getting too crowded JRPG-wise. I look forward to it.

April 22, 2016 at 12:50 pmPS4 version Is said to run at 1080p and 60fps which I’m guessing that the PC version will either run at either 480p or 720p at 30fps with some kind of shit DRM that makes it unplayable. Well judging from what I’ve heard of the Zesteria and Symphonic ports.

April 22, 2016 at 1:04 pmZestiria port was alright on steam just was capped at 30fps which was unlocked later just graphics were bad still graphic settings was terrible.
If PS4 version 1080p 60fps then likely Steam version will be 60fps too unless Bamco still manages to fuck up lol

April 22, 2016 at 1:39 pmthose shitty ports were fixed with toz and tos fix and namco even removed the drm on tos which the tos team could make 60fps possible but if this game was also a shit port, they wouldn’t fix it so I hope this is a good port.

April 22, 2016 at 3:38 pmHere’s hoping it has dual audio, and the PC port has the same specs or more than the PS4 version.

April 22, 2016 at 3:53 pmPersona 5 is slated for Summer in Japan. No way the western release will be then.

April 22, 2016 at 3:54 pmI can live with that. There is a lot of JRPGs coming out towards the end of this year.

April 22, 2016 at 5:11 pmZesteria wasn’t nearly that bad, sure it was locked at 30FPS, but it actually supported 4k. Symphonia can’t even claim that much unfortunately.
Unlike the former Berseria probably was designed with more than the PS3 in mind from the start, so I don’t see why it would be stuck with the same issues.

April 22, 2016 at 6:08 pmI seriously doubt it, but I’d love Abyss with dual audio, that game still looks comparatively neat on an emulator and really shines in undubbed form. Considering how it basically came next after Symphonia that would kind of make sense. The PS3-version of Vesperia would be beyond awesome, too. Oh, Vesperia…

April 22, 2016 at 6:38 pmIts also confirmed to not be censored, not that namco ever did that anyway but people here should be happy. However since this is anti censorship i suspect not a lot of comments will be made. That only happens when something is actually censored it seems.

April 22, 2016 at 6:40 pmReleasing those would cost time and money and wouldn’t sell. Vesperia ship has sailed, leave it alone .

April 22, 2016 at 10:05 pmYet Symphonia and Abyss got their multiple platform versions outside Japan…

April 23, 2016 at 6:01 amIs this another Tales game where you have to spend 90 percent of the time grinding levels just to stand a chance of advancing in the story?
Much as I enjoy RPGs, I just don’t have 80+ hours for whacking the same monsters over the head for just 10 lousy EXP points anymore.

April 24, 2016 at 10:25 amNCSoft promised us that Blade & Soul wouldn’t be censored for the West, and look what happened.
Always wait and see the final result first.

April 25, 2016 at 3:26 amwell… Symphonia from what I’ve heard was patched post-launch, still has 30fps but at least it doesn’t crash. HOPEFULLY they take what they learned when it comes to optimizing for PC and make a better port than the garbage port Symphonia was.
