NIS America has announced that Stranger of Sword City is heading to PC, via Steam.
The Experience-developed dungeon RPG will arrive on the platform sometime this June.
PC users will be able to use the new “Picture Gate” feature, which lets you upload an image to be used as a character in game.
You can find our review for the PS Vita version of the game here (we highly recommend it).

April 21, 2016 at 3:25 pmCOOL! I just put it on my backlog yesterday because I don’t have a Vita or a Xbone. Great news.

April 21, 2016 at 3:39 pmRather surprising to see NISA publishing this on PC, and in such a timely fashion too; I was expecting it to be self-published by Experience instead.
Never thought I’d say this, but if NISA keeps this up, they might just establish themselves as a household name on PC as well.

April 21, 2016 at 4:29 pmNatural Doctrine, Operation Abyss, Rodea were all fine as far as I can tell (no backlash or anything).

April 21, 2016 at 4:37 pmCancerous localization team that would butcher visuals and translation, cut game contents, and also added (sometimes never patched) game-breaking bugs that werent present in JP versions of games.
I think nisa has also strong ties with atlus usa too.

April 21, 2016 at 4:46 pmLooks like they were also responsible for Mugen Souls’ censorship. Fuck this company.

April 21, 2016 at 4:48 pmoh yeah, another JP game gets a PC port
thank you current year gods

April 21, 2016 at 4:50 pmGood question!
I’d say wait until the game is out and check it out, see if any users report any problems, and Steam gives you two hours of playtime or two weeks of ownership(whichever comes first) to issue a full refund, no questions asked so you can buy it and check if it works on your computer or ask for a refund.
scemar
April 21, 2016 at 4:51 pmYep, NISA is very shit tier when it comes to localization jobs.
They take good game from Japan and give people censored buggy messes back.
I’d say don’t support those bad releases but if a game comes out fine then it’s ok to go for it.
Morlab
April 21, 2016 at 4:53 pmIt’s not a port, it was always on PC.

April 21, 2016 at 4:59 pmSimpler solution: Dont support that company at all

April 21, 2016 at 5:33 pmNah, I dont think I will.
Supporting NISA would be a pretty heavy weight on my conscious.
Never bought one of their games and until they change their ways (which wont ever happen), I never will.

Guess I still need that Vita!

April 21, 2016 at 6:02 pmRemember that NISA is still going to be releasing a censored version of Criminal Girls on the PC. Seems they plan on bringing their censorship baggage with them to the PC platform as well.

April 21, 2016 at 6:02 pmTheres a Japanese PC version

April 21, 2016 at 6:38 pmAnd you know your argument is completely retarded, fuccboi, as you know me well enough that I avoid Sony’s jewery.
I’m also still waiting for a CFW on Vita btw
Smug
April 21, 2016 at 6:47 pmThere’s a difference between owning a hardware and renting games online, fuccboi.
Cant deny Vita is built like a security prison though, but you know me pretty well enough that I just use the very basic functions of the handheld and wait for a CFW to come around.

April 21, 2016 at 7:06 pmHasn’t stopped Nisa from adding port-like bugs to games tho.
So still, thread carefully.

April 21, 2016 at 7:19 pmThey did good with Demon Gaze and Fairy Fencer F actually so it’s tricky these days to outright say whether they’re going to shit up the localization. Safe bet is still ‘yes’ of course.
Master Bating
April 21, 2016 at 7:26 pmSteam license functions just like a CD license.
Difference is that you have to access the files online trough their server.
If Valve doesnt provide people with access to the files in the future then theres no future for their own lives aside from a cozy bed in a prison cell.
Just to be sure thought I Crack and backup everything just like I did with CDs.
CFW doesnt stop the locked down hardware and software thought.

April 22, 2016 at 12:42 amI really hope someone mods whatever the fuck they censored back in. are alot of people telling them that censoring their products hurts business and makes people not want to buy from them? are they just to fucking hard headed to NOT mess with shit?
alterku
April 22, 2016 at 7:57 amThought about cancelling my preorder but decided against it. There’s no telling the kinds of shit NISA could add to this game, or take away from it, to wreck it. I’ll deal with the punishing difficulty and smaller resolution to avoid even a chance of getting NISA’d.
KoriCongo
April 22, 2016 at 8:20 amJESUS FUCK, NISA. Can you fucking wait for the game to drop on Vita first BEFORE tanking it’s sales!?
PC ports are fine, but goddamn, do not actively sabotage your own product doing so!

April 22, 2016 at 8:31 amVery nice. I was worried at first since Experience Inc. publicly stated that they had no plans to handle the PC version. I guess it makes sense for NISA to do it for them.
