The latest Famitsu has revealed Super Robot Taisen OG: The Moon Dwellers for both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
Bandai Namco is currently 70% complete with developing the game, and we’ve gotten the first details (Hachima), which you can view below:
The first characters and mecha confirmed are as follows:
- Akemi Akatsuki: The twin sister of Akimi. She looks after her brother takes care of her impulsive brother.
- Akimi Akatsuki: The son of the president of Mogami Industries
- Exbein Boxer Type R
- Exbein Boxer Type L
- G-Compatible Kaiser
- Granteed: The robot piloted by Touya Shun
- Katia Grineal & Melua Melna Meia: Girls that show up piloting Granteed
- Soul Saber FF: A prototype made by Mogami Industries
- Soul Saber GG: A prototype made by Mogami Industries
- Touya Shun: The protagonist
The game reportedly has a novice mode, in case you need to work on your skills and loadouts (it provides you more currency and upgrade parts). There are some more tidbits from an interview with the producer:
This game is the first leg of their ongoing celebration of Super Robot Taisen’s 25th anniversary. The producer teased there are other plans in the works, although he couldn’t reveal more.
The protagonist Calvina Coulange from Super Robot Taisen J will appear as a partner unit. Granteed is different this time, however its also exclusive to Touya. The protagonists from Super Robot Taisen GC will appear as twins.
Super Robot Taisen OG: The Moon Dwellers is set for a release sometime later this year in Japan, for both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4
