This year’s E3 came and went, and while Nintendo of Europe confirmed a release date for Devil’s Third, Tomonobu Itagaki and Valhalla Game Studios’ upcoming Wii U exclusive, Nintendo of America wouldn’t let out a peep.
Chaos ensued on the internets, and people endlessly speculated that Nintendo of America was going to drop the game. Lots of blogs and tabloids ran reports of rumors that Nintendo of America did in fact drop the game, however, the publisher let out a very nebulous tweet:
“We know you are eager to hear more about Devil’s Third. We are excited to bring the game to Wii U and will have more to share soon.”
So while this is a far-cry from an official statement that the game is still being localized in the Americas via their hands, a curious response came via blogger Emily Rogers, who said:
“In a partnership with XSeed.”
This is, yet again, an unclear response, however it wouldn’t be the first time Nintendo of America partnered with XSEED Games to publish a title that didn’t quite fit their “family friendly” demographic, like when they partnered for The Last Story, and Pandora’s Tower.
We’ll keep you guys posted.
