Sound the copyright ninjas! Some fans have made a Splatoon mod for Team Fortress 2, and it looks quite glorious, even in its early state.

Featured above, you can view the reveal trailer for Dr. LilRobot and crew’s Splatoon mod, which introduces the painting mechanic seen in the Wii U game, as well as the ability to physically transform into a squid, enabling you to swim through your ink-coated environment.

The modders have made a point in saying this is video is indicative of an alpha version of their mod. They reportedly have lots of things planned, and are making it different enough from Splatoon itself so they can encourage regular Team Fortress 2 players to give it a whirl.

The most hilarious thing, however, is their disclaimer regarding the use of copyrighted material: “Any and all Splatoon assets used in this mod/video are ©Nintendo and is used without permission,” Dr. LilRobot and crew said in their video.
