Compile Heart have updated the official website for their upcoming strategy RPG, Makai Shin Trillion, thanks to which we have new information about the game. Three facilities have been detailed, the information on which is below.

Thousand Blade Valley

The Thousand Blade Valley is accessed by paying a toll with Training Medals earned through training exercises. The Valley gives the player’s Demon Lords access to a dungeon that contains Magic Seals, which are important for weapon upgrades, and other rare loot. The gameplay here is turn-based, but has a time limit imposed, which means players have to rush in order to maximize how much of the dungeon loot they acquire.

Blacksmith

Players can upgrade their Demon Lords’ weapons at the blacksmith with two different types of upgrades. Standard upgrades grant a simple bonus to stats in exchange for money. Special upgrades allow players to embed special properties in their weapons, if that weapon is capable of another such upgrade (i.e. has an open embeddable slot) and if the player has a seal to embed. Each weapon has eight slots, which can be accessed by giving the weapon standard upgrades. Three examples are given of special upgrades:

  • Ruler Seal—whenever a Booster Devil dies, the Demon Lord’s stats increase
  • Rupture Seal—nullifies damage taken; this upgrade has five uses
  • Expulsion Seal—normal attacks can hit twice

Research Lab

A Research Lab is available, in which Faust researches new items. Players will be able to buy and sell standard items here, as well as obsoleted equipment. This is also where players purchase Booster Devils.

If you’re hankering for more, you can find screenshots here, watch gameplay here, and see the opening movie for the game here.

Makai Shin Trillion will be available on the PS Vita in Japan on May 21.

(Thanks, Gematsu.)
