Get an In-Depth Look at Armikrog, a Stop-Motion Game by the Creators of Earthworm Jim

We’ve known that Armikrog, the new game from the Pencil Test Studios and the creators of Earthworm Jim and The Neverhood games, is coming to PC, Playstation 4, and Wii U, but how is the Tim Burton-esque, clay-like stop-motion actually pulled off?

Featured above, a new developer diary with developers Mike Dietz (co-founder) and Ed Schofield (co-founder), among others, walks us through the technology behind protagonist Tommynaut and the entire twisted world of Armikrog in meticulous detail. Both Tommynaut, and his blind, wise-cracking sidekick alien dog, Beak-Beak, were created by Doug TenNapel. In the game, you’ll follow the adventures of the duo as they try to escape the eponymous Armikrog fortress, following their crash landing on a strange new planet.

Armikrog is set for a release some time later this year. You can see a trailer for the game from last year here.
