Atlus has finally given us a look at Persona 5 during their Persona Super Live 2015 concert, which happened in Nippon Budokan last night.
Featured above, the new trailer shows off the protagonist and a mysterious phantom.
The gameplay is what you would expect of a Persona game, including typical high-schooler activities, dungeons, menus, and battles.
The trailer concludes with the protagonist appearing to transform into his Persona.
In case you missed it – we have the latest update from game producer-director Katsura Hashino, which goes over the game’s characters, plot, and concepts.

Hype is real!

February 5, 2015 at 7:39 amSeems that there are 4 heroes this time: 3 ppl + cat
Looks like Catherine, one character looked like Vincent… scenes in front of table looked like the ones from Catherine….
This will be good.

February 5, 2015 at 7:40 amThough I hope that dungeon will be still randomly generated

February 5, 2015 at 7:46 amAm I the only one who’s excited by the fact they they were fighting actual Demons instead of shadows? I saw 2 Sandman and 1 Pyro Jack and they were definately not summomed arcanas.

February 5, 2015 at 7:50 amI’m digging the whole superhero-like aspect. This is now on my Day 1 buy list.

February 5, 2015 at 8:22 amHmmm.. in digging it. That last scene reminds me of that Masked guy from the first or second Persona game

February 5, 2015 at 8:35 amI also got Philemon vibes from that scene as well.

February 5, 2015 at 8:54 amI was already excited for this, but this trailer just made me get even more hyped for this. Hope we don’t have to wait beyond this year to play it.

February 5, 2015 at 9:31 amHere is hoping that the gameplay takes place in actual hand crafted levels rather than randomly generated dungeon hallways straight out of early 80’s game design.

February 5, 2015 at 10:52 amI’m definitely a lot more interested than I’ve been since the game came out, now I just need to find out if the ending is horribly depressing or not before I decide to buy it. I can’t handle another Persona 2 or 3.

February 5, 2015 at 11:19 amPlease Atlus give us dual audio!

February 5, 2015 at 12:00 pmHoly. Fucking. Shit.
I never expected a Persona game to go down the urban superhero path. This actually looks fucking amazing. The game looks like it will be dealing with some darker themes, or at least I got that vibe from the trailer.
I’m getting hyped, man

February 5, 2015 at 1:28 pmApril 11th was the day Yu arrived in Inaba. That game came here in September.

February 5, 2015 at 1:28 pmIt looks like there’s going to be some interesting additions to the gameplay to break up the usual JRPG monotony (more than one can say about FF13). I actually saw platforming in there.

February 5, 2015 at 1:31 pmThey’re probably trying to get back to some of SMT’s roots, to tie the persona franchise back to it.
Maybe Atlus intends to release more main SMT games in the future and wants to use their most popular game series to promote them at the same time?
Tin o Beans
February 5, 2015 at 1:49 pmThat’s my best case scenario, they recycle all the demon assets and make an entirely new SMT V on consoles. I would love this so much.

February 5, 2015 at 2:09 pmHype is real. I can’t wait to experience the game.

February 5, 2015 at 2:16 pmAlright, color me officially interested. This seems to be breaking away from P4 enough for me to enjoy it. Also, transforming into your Persona? Please let that be true. Gives me all kinds of positive DDS vibes.

February 5, 2015 at 3:30 pmI DIDN’T NOTICE THAT!

February 5, 2015 at 3:32 pm“DDS vibes”
I thought the same thing. This is going to be truly amazing

February 5, 2015 at 4:00 pmHuh, my first thought wasn’t superhero, it was burgler. It starts with the MC breaking into a casino, the girl is pretty much wearing Catwoman’s outfit and uses a whip, and at one point you can see them pouring over schematics in a GTA Heist like scene.

February 5, 2015 at 5:18 pmHOLY SHIT LET ME PLAY THIS GAME NOOOOWWWWW!!!!!

February 6, 2015 at 2:07 amWhat I meant to say was something related to the ‘do justice with your own hands’ vigilante type of urban hero. You know, the kind that doesn’t respect by the law and do whatever they need to make justice. Pretty much like I heard someone else say early on, like a modern Robin Hood. Either that or I’m looking too hard into it/too enamored with the urban hero idea.
Whichever the case, it still looks pretty damn unique in the Persona series and it also looks like it could reach Jojo levels of stylish. I’m still looking forward to it a lot.

February 6, 2015 at 8:46 pmYeah. Enjoyed them both. I just wasn’t feeling particularly motivated to follow this one for some reason until I actually saw this trailer.
