What do you get when you mix a rhythm action game with fun, bouncy J-Pop, the girls of Senran Kagura, and throw in delicious food? You come away with Senran Kagura Bon Appetit, which is coming soon for the PlayStation Vita.
Walking up to the demo for this title, I felt a strange mix of excitement and curiosity. I’m already a fan of the original Senran Kagura, and once I started playing Bon Appetit, I was instantly a fan of the fun gameplay and hilarious even-if-you-lose-you-win stripping scenes.
The game plays a lot like other rhythm action games, with the exception that you are actually controlling both the characters on the screen at the same time (at least in the demo). The better you play, the better they cook, only to have one of them shamed and have their clothes blasted-that’s right, blasted off by the judge of their respective meals.
The music that plays while you input button commands is great, and I actually played the same levels over a few times just to hear the songs again. The visuals are also top notch, and is yet another reminder of just how much potential the Vita has in making great looking games. And when I say great looking, you can infer that in any way you like.
Senran Kagura: Bon Appetit will be launching on PS Vita this winter. This game will be a day one buy for me, along with the badass looking Shinovi Versus!
