Microsoft has announced a new Xbox One model that will actually come without the Kinect peripheral that arguably made it cost a hundred dollars more expensive than its competition.
Featured above, you can check out a video introducing the newer and cheaper model. The Kinect-less SKU will be coming on June 9th, and it will cost $399 dollars.
Xbox boss Phil Spencer had this to say regarding the new development:
“We’ve heard that you want more choices from Xbox One. You want a wide variety of options in your games and entertainment experiences and you also want options in your hardware selection.”
The Kinect enabled Xbox One bundle will continue to be available at the $499 price tag. If you do want to get a Kinect add on later, you’ll be able to buy the camera by itself this fall.
Microsoft also confirmed that over 170 content and entertainment apps like Hulu, Netflix and so on will be available to all Xbox 360 and Xbox One users, whether they’re Xbox Live Gold subscribers or not.
