Night in the Woods: Weird Autumn Edition Announced, Launches December 13

Infinite Fall has announced Night In The Woods: Weird Autumn Edition.

The new version of the adventure game is coming to PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on December 13th. Featured above, you can view the game’s announcement trailer.

Chief among the additions in the new version are never before seen content, like pre-release miniature episodes, new mini games, and more. Owners of the PC game will get this upgraded version for free.

Finally, it’s worth mentioning the game’s official Twitter account teased a release for “another console,” which by process of elimination tells us it’s coming to the Nintendo Switch as well.

Here’s a rundown on the game:

College dropout Mae Borowski returns home to the crumbling former mining town of Possum Springs seeking to resume her aimless former life and reconnect with the friends she left behind. But things aren’t the same. Home seems different now and her friends have grown and changed. Leaves are falling and the wind is growing colder. Strange things are happening as the light fades.

And there’s something in the woods.

NIGHT IN THE WOODS is an adventure game focused on exploration, story, and character, featuring dozens of characters to meet and lots to do across a lush, vibrant world. After a successful Kickstarter it’s being made by Infinite Fall, a teamup of Alec Holowka (Aquaria), Scott Benson (Late Night Work Club), and Bethany Hockenberry.

its really good, and if you’re also a dropout, will probably make you cry

  • Wow this stupid hipster SJW game is still alive?

How can an inanimate object die?

Yeah plenty of trash NEET sucking Alec Holowka’s tits. Guy has a million dollars in his company account from selling relatable shit to dropouts.

I liked it a lot. If you’re a mid 20’s washout living in a dying town it hits home really fucking hard. Ending sucked though.

It’s meant to appeal to the college/just-hit-legal-age-for-alcohol group, it’s writing flipflops betwenn obnoxious or bland, and knowing the area the game is drawing inspiration from, it just seems like the creator has a particular brand of hate for those that built their life in those sorts of towns. The art is take it or leave it in my eyes, but the artist is a person I find deplorable in general so take it that I have some kind of bias. Also there’s not much “game” to this game, it has to live or die by it’s writing and I’m not fond of any of it.
