Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced new translucent-themed DualShock 4 controllers for the worldwide market.

The fan-favorite translucent colors are limited in quantities and come in the following colors: Crystal, Blue Crystal and Red Crystal. They’re reversed in comparison to older translucent style, meaning the top is translucent and the bottom is a solid color.

Here’s some beauty shots of each color:

The various colored-controllers will be available at certain retailers, including: Crystal at GameStop (EB Games in Canada), Blue Crystal at Walmart and Red Crystal at Best Buy. Each controller will cost $65 in the US and will arrive sometime this month in both North America and Europe.

    It’s 1998 mother fucker!

  • Mechonis

$5 more then a regular already overpriced controller? No thanks

  • Mr0303

Never really liked those. If you’d go to the trouble of getting a different controller it might as well be a themed one.

  • TheOnceAndFutureKing

    that price certainly isn’t nostalgic

  • tccboss

well shit you lost me at store exclusives.

  • Taiho

    >4 pictures of 3 different things at the exact same angles.
    >Nichegamer doesn’t line them up exactly top to bottom with the same angle.
    Tickling my autism.

  • BeakieHelmet

Took a look at the wayback machine, found a bestbuy.com archive from August 17th, 2001

That listed the DualShock 2 at $34.99

Adjusted for inflation, that’s about $48.25 in today’s dollars

So actually, you are right, that’s a 135% price increase from what the blue translucent DualShock2 cost in 2001.

  • there you go BB

you know I was thinking about that too ahahahahaha

  • Himegami Aisa

*35% price increase. Still shitty, though.

  • ぽっぴっぽー

  • Eldhin Hellknight

They look really cool but, daaaaamn , that price

  • TheOnceAndFutureKing

I was thinking of the dualshock 1 which I think was only around $20 back then, but damn.

  • Asuka

Why are they only HALF translucent???

  • Cubed Grapes

Probably because translucent controllers are generally crap.

  • DrearierSpider

Their better looking than those ugly ass gold controllers from a few months ago, I’ll give em that much.

  • catazxy
