New Trailer for Arika’s New Fighter, Worldwide 2018 Release Confirmed

Arika has shown off a new trailer for their upcoming fighting game at this year’s EVO, which previously debuted as an April Fool’s Day joke.

Featured above, the new trailer introduces the game’s playable cast of characters, with some new additions: Skullo Mania and Darun Mister.

The game was also confirmed for a worldwide, simultaneous release sometime next year, for PlayStation 4. It’s worth mentioning the game still doesn’t have an official name.

A limited time playable beta/server test will be run sometime towards the end of this year. Finally, there will be pre-order bonuses, however they’ll be revealed at a later date.

We’ll keep you guys posted.

YES! Skullomania! The title may have not been decided, but I’ve decided to get the game. Just drop the April 1st announcements, please.

I’m also glad about the simultaneous release, whenever that happens – this should be a common practice for competitive games.

It’s a fantastic world where this can exist, coming out of an April Fool’s joke.

Never thought I’d see any Street Fighter EX characters again.

It seems like this is going to be EX fighters and cutting room + freaks. Or maybe it’s an attempt to go back to Street Fighter’s routes if the retro SFX music is to go by. Surprised Capcom are doing this- unless it’s a Sonic Mania Vs. Sonic Forces kinda deal (test the water with two styles of game, see what gets more bites)

  • OzymandiasAeonis

Ono said a couple years back that Capcom doesn’t own Arika’s EX characters so I imagine that they aren’t involved. Can’t see Capcom doing anything like that as they seem committed to a absolute fault to their fighters sticking to a specific formula

  • Nagato

It was never an actual joke; there was clearly way too much effort put into that trailer for it to be merely that.

  • Uncle Ocelot

iirc correctly Arika owns the rights to the original EX fighters, so Capcom didn’t have any say.

  • Pico

The game has not-Ryu and turkish Zangief

Holy shit! This looks so fun, plus Skullomania! With this, DBZ, BBXT, and T7 why do we need Crapcucks shit again? Now we need a new Samurai Shodown
