The King of Fighters XIV Launches for PC via Steam on June 15

SNK Corporation has announced the PC release date for The King of Fighters XIV.

The Steam Edition of the fighting game will launch on June 15th. Featured above, a new trailer was released to celebrate the game’s Steam release.

You’ll be able to get the game in a standard $59.99 version and a Deluxe Pack, the latter of which includes four downloadable characters, a digital art book and soundtrack, and 10 downloadable costumes, for $74.99. Finally, if you pre-purchase the game you can get them at a nice 20% discount.

Here’s a rundown on the game, via its Steam page:

The King of Fighters XIV is the newest entry in the acclaimed THE KING OF FIGHTERS series of fighting games. Lead by veteran creator and FATAL FURY creator Yasuyuki Oda, KOF XIV takes the iconic gameplay that the series is known for while implementing new 3D visuals, a first for a mainline entry in the series! Featuring a robust roster of 50 characters in the base game along with 4 DLC characters, including both returning fan favorites and new characters, this entry is perfect for veterans and newcomers alike!

Key Features:

  • 54 Fighters: One of the largest character rosters ever in the KOF Series!
In addition to the original roster of 50 characters, 4 DLC characters join the fight! Iconic characters as well as new challengers duke it out in KOF XIV STEAM EDITION for epic battles.
  • New Chapter: A brand New Kof Saga!
The KOF Series’ storyline has been continuing over the OROCHI, NESTS, and ASH sagas. KOF’s rich story has NOT finished, and returns in a brand new exciting story arc with KOF XIV STEAM EDITION.
  • 3-on-3: KOF’s traditional game system is back!
Select your favorite 3 fighters from the game’s robust character roster, and fight to victory via KOF’s traditional “3-on-3 TEAM BATTLE” game system.

KOF XIV STEAM EDITION features a large variety of game modes such as STORY MODE, VS MODE, and a GALLERY MODE for the best KOF experience ever.
  • PARTY BATTLE: A new fighting game experience
Duke it out with as many as six people (three players on each team) in VS Online “PARTY BATTLE”! Feel the heat of an authentic fighting game tournament experience.
  • RUSH: A new feature aimed at easing beginners into the battle system
The newly introduced “RUSH” feature allows even novice players to perform combos by pressing Light Punch repeatedly.
  • Climax Cancel: Ultimate Combos!
The combo system has evolved in KOF XIV, allowing players to execute a CLIMAX SUPER SPECIAL MOVE from a SUPER SPECIAL MOVE in the same combo for astonishing damage.

Good news for PC players, definitely a great Fighting Game even though It may look like a PS3 game, at least you get to play it at bigger resolutions, I hope the game manages to get a big community of players and said community create some good mods for this game, I might get it for PC if I see some cool custom costumes

Took SNK long enough to finally bring KOF14 to steam. Now I have a good reason to break into my arcade stick!

  • CRES

And to dust off my Fight Pad. Haven’t used that since Nitro+ Blasterz.

  • CRES

You know, I’ve never pre-purchased a game before. I’ve pre-ordered, but to put down money before the game is even out seems ludicrous. However, that 20% discount does sound awfully tempting.

this is gonna be the first game i buy when i get a pc

  • Espio419

Can’t wait for the nude mods.

  • SinkingSage

    Oh, god, yes!

  • Madbrainbox

Releasing it so soon after Tekken doesn’t seem like a very wise move.

  • Ophel

Finally i can play with Angel. My favorite character in KOF.

  • ProxyDoug

Better than making the distance between the console and PC release any longer.

Ok now my friends can stop squatting my PS4

  • Madbrainbox

I just hope this won’t hurt their sales.

  • Now their is no mention of cross play between PC and PS4 , i hope it will be there, splitting the community of players in half on different servers won’t do SNK any good.
