Double Dragon IV Officially Announced for PC, PS4

Arc System Works has announced a slightly delayed Christmas present – Double Dragon IV.

The new entry in the classic, iconic beat ’em up series is coming to both PC (via Steam) and PlayStation 4 on January 30th in Japan, next year. Featured above, you can view the game’s debut trailer.

Arc System Works has assembled most of the original staff that worked on the original arcade game, including director Yoshihisa Kishimoto, character designer Koji Ogata, programmer Kei Oyama, composer Kazunaka Yamane, and producer Takaomi Kaneko.

The game’s story takes place directly after the defeat of the Shadow Warriors in Double Dragon II.

Fans can expect the same visuals seen in the original games, however there will be new mechanics added into the mix. It’s worth mentioning every game mode can be played with two players.

A western release wasn’t confirmed, however the game’s official website has an English version. Combine this with the general lack of extensive dialogue in the game and we’re expecting it to get a western release soon.
