Unreleased Commodore 64 Adventure Game “Heroes and Cowards” Sees Light Of Day

Most of us old enough to remember the 1980s glory days of the C64 are replaying our memories on an emulator like Vice rather than actual hardware. Those who do, however, may be interested in today’s news which reveals a previously unreleased C64 game is getting released more than 20 years after its original launch date.

Called Heroes and Cowards, this adventure game is very firmly set in 1980s gaming standards. That is to say it’s about a “chosen one” defeating a “great evil” while being able to select items and command words via a point and click interface. This might actually work for the game’s developer, Out of Order Softworks, since these old school adventure games are still riding a high (Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, Broken Age, etc.)

What’s even more impressive about this uncovered relic of the past is that it is slated to appear at Gamescom 2015.

No word yet if they will port the game to PC (or anything else), but they promise more details are coming.
